East Africa Tour Private – 21 days - Day by Day Uganda Section – 6 Days – Lake Bunyonyi – Bwindi/Rwanda parks – Lake Mburo park Day 1 – Upon your arrival you will be met by your guide and transferred to the hotel for the overnight BB. Depending on time of arrival there are optional activities, visiting the Uganda wildlife education centre, Botanical gardens or Ngamba island chimp sanctuary. Day 2 – Depart for Lake Bunyonyi, a lunch stop en route, the drive takes through the beautiful highlands of western Uganda, the cultivated hillsides are a great view, in addition to the view crater lakes from a distance folding into the highlands is breath taking. After a 5mins boat crossing you will arrive at the Natures Prime Island and you will be staying at the camp for the night FB Day 3 – Start the day today with a nature walk, which allows you a spectacular view of the surrounding islands on Lake Bunyonyi, birdlife on the island and the great scenic views. After breakfast you then depart for Bwindi National park/Parc de Volcans Rwanda, you will arrive in time for a late lunch at a lodge/camp and the rest of the afternoon you will take a walk to the local communities, returning the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 4 – Gorilla Trek today, an early breakfast after which you proceed to the park offices for a briefing, then continue on for the trek. We advise you bring with hiking shoes, long pants and long sleeved shirts for the trek. The lodge provides a picnic lunch while on the trek. And you are encouraged to carry with enough drinking water. Return to the lodge/camp for the overnight FB. Day 5 – Today; you will depart for Lake Mburo National park, lunch at the lodge/camp. While at Lake Mburo get know learn how the lake was named, a boat ride on the lake, a bush walk or game drive. The park is a habitat for Zebras & Elands, mammals you will not find in any other park in Uganda, and the birdlife too is an attraction to the birder lovers, Overnight at the lodge/camp plus dinner. Day 6 – A leisurely morning today, or just relax at the lodge and enjoy the distant views from you balcony, a late morning departure for Entebbe. A stop for curio shopping if keen, otherwise you will continue to Entebbe for the overnight at a hotel BB. You will be transferred to the airport tomorrow for your flight to Nairobi. Tanzania 7N/8 Days – Lake Manyara – Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater – Tarangire Day 7 – Depending on the flight times, will be transferred to the Airport for in time for your departure flight to Arusha, you will be met upon arrival and transferred to a hotel for the night plus dinner. Day 8 - After breakfast from Arusha, proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive with picnic lunches, Later proceed to a Lodge/Camp for dinner and overnight stay. Day 9 - After breakfast, proceed to Serengeti National Park for a game drive with picnic lunches, this is the largest park in Tanzania, with the largest number of animals. The annual migration usually lead by wildebeests which takes place for a period of 2 months takes off from the central plains heading westwards and northwards in search of water. Alongside this search are also predators and scavengers like hyenas and vultures. The birdlife comprises of about 400 species. Dinner and overnight at a lodge/camp FB. Day 10 - 11 - During this two days you will be going for game drives at Serengeti National Park, to allow maximization of all the animals and the birds in the park, relaxation periods to enjoy a swim at the lodge or read a book under a tree shade. Stay for the nights at the lodge or camp FB. Day 12 – An early morning drive to Ngorongoro Crater allowing you more game viewing as you drive. Ngorongoro Crater; which is popularly known as the “eight wonder of the world” covers an area of 259sq.km with 610mtrs high walls making it the largest intact crater in the world. Overnight at a lodge/camp FB Day 13 - After early breakfast, proceed for a Full Day Crater tour with picnic lunches at Ngorongoro Crater, later proceed to Tarangire national park. Dinner and overnight at a lodge/camp. Day 14 - After early breakfast, proceed for a full day game drive at Tarangire National Park with picnic lunches, - Tarangire park is located south of Arusha town. The principal feature of the being the flood plains, and grasslands with the thinly scattered acacia and baobabs. Later proceed back to Arusha in the evening for the night plus dinner; you will be transferred to the airport the following morning for your flight to Nariobi Kenya section - 7 Days – Amboseli – Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara Day 15 - On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and greeted by our customer service representative and transferred to a hotel where you will relax in your room, or you can enjoy the clubs sauna, gym, swimming pool, various bars and other amenities. Overnight at the Hotel plus dinner. Day 16 - After an early breakfast we begin your safari by driving you south to Amboseli National Park. At an altitude of about 1200m – 1400m and beautifully situated beneath the foot of Africa’s highest mountain (5895m), the majestic snowcapped Mt. Kilimanjaro, Amboseli has Large herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, giraffes, lions, and a variety of other animals and birds all of which are attracted to this park due to its permanent supply of water that filters through the volcanic rock from Mt. Kilimanjaro’s melting snow. The park is also home to the Masai people, those tall, brave, and proud nomads who live in close harmony with the environment and the wildlife that surrounds them. Amboseli was the location around which such famous writers like Sir Ernest Hemingway and Robert Ruark tailored their stories of big game hunting in the wilds of Africa. Overnight and meals a lodge/camp. Day 17 - A dawn game drive will be the perfect time for photographing the humbling and magnificent Mt. Kilimanjaro the highest peak in Africa. We return to the lodge for breakfast and some R&R “rest and relaxation”, sunbathing, swimming or for those of you reading enthusiasts, you can read the day away in the well-stocked library with a relaxing view of Mt. Kilimanjaro, before heading out for an afternoon game drive. All meals and overnight at lodge/camp Day 18 - Soon after an early morning breakfast, you will depart Amboseli to Lake Nakuru via Nairobi affectionately known as the “City Under The Sun.” Located in the Rift Valley 1750 meters above sea level, Lake Nakuru is known as an ornithological paradise by birdwatchers because the lake is world famous as the location of the greatest bird spectacle on earth which boasts any where between one and two million lesser and greater pink flamingos that feed on the abundant algae thriving in the lakes warm waters. It is one of the few parks that have been specifically established (Gazetted) for the protection of birds specifically flamingoes, more than 450 species of birds have been recorded here. The park has also been established for the protection of endangered species such as the rhino and is also home to Columbus monkeys, Leopards, Giraffes, and a variety of plain antelope. All meals and overnight at lodge/camp Day 19 - Today our safari will take us to the jewel of Kenya’s parks, the world famous Masai Mara Game (Wildlife) Reserve. This is Kenya’s number one park and is always on every tourist’s “Must see list”. Full of life with various types of animals and birds, Masai Mara crown’s the climax of every safari in Kenya. Its rolling grasslands and acacia savannah have time and again been captured on film with the movie “Out Of Africa” being the most famous. Masai Mara is home to the “Big Five” (Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard and Rhino) and over 450 bird species. Apart from the big five, the Masai Mara is most famous for the spectacular annual migration of over a million wildebeest, zebra, gazelle etc from the Serengeti in northern Tanzania crossing the Mara River into Kenya in search of fresh feeding grounds, which takes place in late July or August. During this crossing, hundreds of animals are swept away by the first moving Mara River and others are killed by the ferocious African Crocodiles. This crossing gives true meaning to the phrase “Survival of the fittest”. There over 450 species of birds of which 57 species are birds of prey recorded in the park. Overnight as meals at lodge/camp Day 20 - The day will start with an early morning game drive before dawn followed by breakfast upon your return to the camp. After breakfast you can go swimming in the pool under the African sun or simply relax for the rest of the late morning. Later, late afternoon return to the wilderness in search of wild game, such as Thomson’s and Grant’s Gazelle, elephants, lions, and the solitary and ill-tempered Rhino, among others. All meals and overnight at lodge/camp Day 21 - After breakfast, we drive back to Nairobi arriving in time for your departure flight. Given time you will enjoy a lunch in Nairobi or barbeque and a city tour prior to the airport transfer.
