Located 23 km offshore from Entebbe, this 100 acres forested island is a safe place for juvenile/ orphaned chimpanzees that are free to enjoy the natural habitat on this wonderful island.

Its is home to a variety of plants and tree species, wild water and forest bird species, beautiful but unique reptile species such as snakes and lizard varieties plus a beautiful lake scenery all available to make your safari a great memory. You will have a unique opportunity for close viewing of chimpanzees in their natural environment due to the pre- arranged supplementary feeding times (11.00 am & 3.00 pm each day) that bring the chimpanzees to within meters of the raised walkway designed for easy viewing and provide excellent photographic opportunities.

 

8:00am, You will be transferred to the pier for your boat trip to Ngamba Island, The Ngamba Island tour begins right away the moment you set to Entebbe Uganda Wild Life Center where you are welcomed by freelance monkeys that bless the compound, many tree species natural and man planted, the architecture its self but most impressive are the close to 20 water bird species that beautify the shores/ boarding area as you set off for your trip.

9:00am, Set off for the island

10:00am, Briefing at the island before viewing the chimpanzees an informative presentation is given to all visitors explain the background, aims and objectives of the sanctuary as well as interesting facts about chimpanzees in general and in particular about the chimapnzess that reside on Ngamba

11:00am, You will have a unique opportunity for close viewing of chimpanzees in their natural environment due to the pre-arranged supplementary feeding times that brings the chimpanzees to within meters of the raised walkway designed for easy viewing and provide excellent photographic opportunities

12:00pm, relax at the Island/participate in a number of activities at the island like volley ball, kayaks and swimming on the beach until lunch

1:00 pm, Have lunch there after participate in a walk around the island

3:00 pm, Another unique opportunity for close viewing of chimpanzees in their natural environment due to the pre-arranged supplementary feeding times that brings the chimpanzees to within meters of the raised walkway designed for easy viewing and provide excellent photographic opportunities

3:30pm Depart from Ngamba island for Kome Island get to know the social life of the fishermen and the background of the Island, you will be entertained by women groups on the island and participating in different activities like the fishing, weaving of crafts and many more.

5:00 pm, you will be transferred by the same boat to the main land
