10 days – Birding – MFNP, KIB, QENP, LMBURO
Day 1 – Arrival met and transferred to your hotel for the overnight stay. Depending on your arrival, and if keen, you may go for a birding walk through the Botanical gardens in Entebbe. These have existed since the colonial days and are a habitat to several bird species. Amongst which are the weavers, sunbirds, eagles, crows, kites to mention but a few. Return to the hotel for the rest of the evening, staying at Airport Guesthouse BB
Day 2 – Early departure for Murchison falls park, a stop at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, here you will trek the rhinos and learn about their revival and conservation, which allows birding through the trek. Have lunch and then continue to Murchison falls. In the park there over 450 bird species, – the Albertan rift endemic birds, water birds and savannah birds. Common species include the Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Secretary birds, black bellied Bustards and more. Arrival will be late afternoon. Overnight stay at Fort Murchison Lodge FB
Day 3 – Full day birding in the park, along which you will view game and later on the boat cruise along the River Nile. On the cruise you will also view the famous falls as the river Nile falls down a narrow gap on its way to Egypt. Overnight as above FB
Day 4 – An early breakfast today, then you depart for Kibale park, birding en route, with a picnic lunch. Continue with the birding onto the park. Here you will find the African Pitte, Green-breasted Pitta, Afep pigeon, White-naped pigeon, crowned eagle, Red-chested Owlet, Black bee0eater, little Greenbul and more. It will be early evening by the time you check in, relax for the rest of the evening, dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest cottages FB
Day 5 – OPTIONAL Chimpanzee trek. Otherwise this morning you will go birding at the ….swamp – a habitat to vast birdlife. After lunch you will go for the birding in the forest, here are chances of sighting, various primate species.
Day 6 – After breakfast you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth park, as you drive along, there are views of the Mt. Rwenzori ranges, quite spectacular views. Continue with the birding, at Queen Elizabeth you will check in, have lunch and then go through the savannah lands species like the black belied bustard, white tailed lark, flapet lark, hooded vulture brown backed scrub robin, the crested crane and more – birding. Day 7 – Day’s birding with a game drive and a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel a home to enormous birdlife. Overnight as above
Day 8 – Early breakfast and then depart for Lake Mburo park, there will not be much of birding en route, since it mostly through villages and town centers. But on your way into the park you may site birds and continue on to check in, have lunch after which you will set out for the birding. This park is a habitat of about 350 bird species, some of which include the rare shoebill, brown chested wattled plover, papyrus yellow warbler, grey snipe and more. There are chances of viewing game, as they bask in the sunset and lick on salts. Overnight stay at Eagle’s Nest FB
Day 9 – Start early and continue birding, have lunch and then depart for Entebbe. Stop for curio shopping at the equator, and as well experience the equator surrounding. Overnight stay at Airport Guesthouse BB
Day 10 – Today you will be transferred to the airport, in time for your departure flight.
